3. Data we process

Depending on how you use the STUDEX Shop App, we may process the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data, such as name, email address, password credentials, company information, address and telephone number.
  • Commercial and order data, such as selected country platform, cart contents, wishlist, orders, products, invoices, delivery information and customer support communication.
  • Device and app data, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, country selection, session information, diagnostics and error logs.
  • Push notification data, such as notification permissions and device push tokens used to deliver order updates, promotions or service messages.
  • Camera-related data used locally when barcode scanning is enabled. The app uses camera access to scan product barcodes; it is not intended to collect photos or videos for storage.

4. Why we process data

We process personal data to provide and secure the STUDEX Shop App, authenticate users, operate country-specific shopping platforms, display products, manage carts and wishlists, place and process orders, send order status updates, provide customer support, prevent misuse, improve reliability and comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal basis

Where the GDPR applies, processing may be based on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent, where you have given consent for a specific purpose, for example optional push notifications.
  • Contract performance or pre-contractual steps, where processing is necessary to provide the app, account, ordering and support services.
  • Legal obligations, where STUDEX must retain or process certain records under applicable law.
  • Legitimate interests, including app security, service improvement, fraud prevention, customer communication and technical operation of the service.

6. App permissions

The app may request permissions that are necessary for specific features:

  • Camera: used for barcode scanning.
  • Notifications: used for order status updates, delivery information, promotions and special offers, where enabled.
  • Device storage or file access: may be used only where needed to open, save or display documents such as invoices.

You can control app permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if required permissions are disabled.

7. Push notifications

If you enable push notifications, the app may process a device push token so that notifications can be sent to your device. Notifications may include order progress, delivery status, discounts, new deals and exclusive offers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

8. Account deletion

You can delete your STUDEX Shop App account directly in the app after logging in.

  1. Log in to the STUDEX Shop App.
  2. Tap the Account icon in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Tap the Edit link.
  4. In the edit view, tap the field with the trash icon.
  5. When the app asks "Are you sure want to delete your account?", confirm by selecting Yes.

After confirmation, your app account and app profile are permanently deleted. Certain records may be retained only where STUDEX is legally required to keep them, for example accounting, tax, transaction, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution records.

You can also request account deletion by contacting dataprotection@studexeurope.com. Please include the email address used for your STUDEX Shop App account and your country platform. This email option is available if you cannot access the app.

9. Sharing data

Personal data may be shared with service providers and partners where necessary to operate the app and related services. These may include hosting providers, IT service providers, technical support providers, communications providers, delivery or logistics partners, payment or invoicing providers where applicable, local STUDEX distributors and public authorities where required by law.

Processors acting on behalf of STUDEX are required to process data only according to instructions and appropriate data protection safeguards.

10. International transfers

The app may be used across multiple country platforms. Personal data may therefore be processed in Austria, Switzerland, the European Union, the European Economic Area or other locations where STUDEX, its processors or platform partners operate. Where data is transferred internationally, STUDEX uses appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection law.

11. Retention

Unless stated otherwise, STUDEX stores personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods are reviewed regularly. Data may be retained for longer where required by law, for contract performance, accounting, tax, warranty, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or legitimate business purposes.

When the retention period expires, personal data is deleted or anonymized.

12. Security

STUDEX uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data against loss, destruction, unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. Because Internet transmission can never be completely secure, no system can guarantee absolute protection against all risks.

13. Informational website

This informational website is designed to present the STUDEX Shop App, support information and this privacy policy. In its current static form, it does not use analytics, advertising trackers or social media plug-ins. If contact is initiated through email links or a support request, the data provided will be processed to respond to that inquiry.
